What is Valnalón Educa
The Education and Training for Entrepreneurship Programme (Cadena de Formación de Emprendedores ) is the answer for a concrete need: the lack of a entrepreneurial culture and attitude among youngsters of a region like the Principality of Asturias. With a million of inhabitants, characterized by a dependent behavior resultant from the Industrial Era.
Talking about Education for Entrepreneurship means promoting a cultural change, fostering the development of the typical characteristics of entrepreneurship: the capacity to create, to take risks, to lead, to motivate, to communicate, to negotiate, to take decisions, to plan...
These abilities are needed by those who want to undertake a project on their own or in the social field, but they are also needed by those who work for somebody. Because of this, in Valnalón we have considered essential to start this programme at school because the school is the first and fundamental step to make the entrepreneurial skills, which help children to develop their personalities, keep being familiar to them.
With the aim of empowering these abilities on children as soon as possible, the educational programme of Valnalón has a chain-like structure, with the first step comprising primary education, and the last one involving Professional Training or higher education.
In 2004 the Education and Training for Entrepreneurship Programme (CADENA DE FORMACIÓN DE EMPRENDEDORES) was included in the Nurture of Entrepreneurial Culture Program (PROGRAMA DE FOMENTO DE LA CULTURA EMPRENDEDORA), as one of the axis of the Agreement signed between the Government of the Principality of Asturias and the Social Agents for the period 2004-2007 and called Agreement for the Economic Development, Competence and Work agreement, (ACUERDO PARA EL DESARROLLO ECONÓMICO , LA COMPETITIVIDAD Y EL EMPLEO- ADECE). In 2008, and for the period 2008-2011, this agreement was renewed as the Agreement on the Competitiveness, Employment and Welfare of Asturias (ACUERDO PARA LA COMPETITIVIDAD, EL EMPLEO Y EL BIENESTAR DE ASTURIAS-ACEBA).
